What does MYOB AccountRight do?
MYOB AccountRight combines accounting with business operations: invoicing, bills, expenses, inventory, jobs and payroll. AccountRight Plus supports desktop and browser workflows, with some advanced functions requiring Windows. It gives a business one place to manage its financial records alongside stock and employee pay.
Where it fits
A useful fit to consider when your team wants accounting, inventory and payroll together, particularly where job references matter. timepilot’s role is preparing reviewed source hours for the payroll hand-off.
What to check first
Confirm your edition, online company file and payroll setup. AccountRight is one MYOB product; an MYOB subscription alone does not establish this connection’s eligibility.

From workshop weeks to site hours.
Workshop weeks
Signed sheets, handwritten breaks and changing shifts belong beside the hours being reviewed. Check uncertain values against the original before wage categories enter the payroll decision.
Site hours with job context
Keep the employee, work date and job together across separate crew sheets. A missing job mapping needs a decision before transfer; job references do not establish a full job-costing or invoicing integration.
The details that need to match.
The right company file
Use one verified online AccountRight file. The selected payroll file defines employees and categories.
Wage categories
Confirm the category is valid for the particular employee, not merely present in the file.
Job references
Verify supported job fields and explicit mappings. Hold unmapped work instead of dropping its context.
Source. Review. Payroll.
Bring in the crew sheets
Import supported timesheets and keep the original beside the reviewed hours.
Match people and categories
Explicitly link each Employee to the selected company-file identity and assigned wage category.
Review before payroll
Approve the work, then inspect additions, existing entries and processed work for the selected dates.
Keep existing payroll protected.
Processed AccountRight entries must stay protected. An unprocessed flag alone does not prove a date is writable. Unknown date or entry status blocks a transfer; replacement requires an exact employee/date/category/job preview and explicit confirmation.
Corrections after approval require another review. An uncertain delivery must be reconciled before retrying. Pay calculation and finalisation remain in your payroll system.
Scope and setup requirements
- Australian payroll in an online AccountRight company file. Offline files and other MYOB products need a separate assessment.
- Authorised payroll-business access and explicit Employee links.
- Verified category assignments, existing entries and writable payroll states.
- Online Australian AccountRight only; other MYOB products are separate.
- Provider access and writable-date checks must be verified before activation.
- Payroll calculation and statutory reporting remain in AccountRight.
Your questions, answered.
Does this cover every MYOB product?
No. This guide covers online AccountRight payroll in Australia. MYOB Business, Advanced and offline desktop files require their own assessment.
Can I overwrite processed hours?
Processed payroll stays protected. timepilot does not reopen pay runs or unprocess entries. Corrections need the appropriate payroll process.
What should I bring to a beta discussion?
Your AccountRight setup, pay frequency and an empty example of the sheet your team uses. Leave employee records and pay details out of the enquiry.
