From a message to the Work Queue.
Set the Company boundary.
Your dedicated receiving number routes texts to your Company. Save Employee phone numbers and explicitly authorise each sender.
Interpret the hours.
AI reads the message into dates, times, breaks, hours and configured job fields. Ambiguity, correction instructions and unauthorised matches are held for review.
Review the original words.
Compare the original SMS with the interpreted entries. Every beta interpretation requires source review before the existing submission and approval workflow.
One foreman. Several Employees.
A foreman’s phone number identifies the sender, while the names or payroll identifiers in the message identify the staff. Administrators choose exactly which Employees each sender can submit for. These permissions apply within the receiving Company.
SMS beta creates review entries. It does not automatically approve hours, overwrite earlier submissions or send data directly to payroll.
Optional SMS intake · Beta

Can Employees text their timesheets?
The timepilot SMS beta is designed for authorised Employees to text hours to a dedicated Company number. AI interprets the text into entries for Administrator review. Receiving requires verified provider setup and an active SMS add-on.
Can a foreman submit hours for a crew?
Yes. An Administrator can authorise a foreman’s saved phone number to submit for specified Employees in that Company. Unknown or unauthorised staff matches are held for review.
Can I send a photo of a timesheet?
No. The initial SMS beta accepts text only. Photos and MMS are not supported. Use timepilot’s separate file-import workflow for photos.
Does every Company have its own number?
Yes. A dedicated receiving number routes messages to one Company. AI never chooses the Company. Approved sender rules and Company-scoped Employee matching provide additional checks.
Does an SMS allowance include timesheet processing?
The SMS add-on covers incoming text messages and one dedicated Company number. Timesheet processing continues to use the separate base plan allowance. At a limited SMS allowance, new messages are held without automatic SMS overage charges.
Keep the text. Reduce the re-keying.
